Supportive Therapy Online in Colorado
Because sometimes you need a space to process.
What Supportive Therapy Is
Supportive therapy is a conversational, person-centered approach focused on helping you better understand what you’re experiencing while building practical tools and coping strategies for day-to-day life.
Rather than deeply analyzing the past, supportive therapy focuses more on your current stressors, emotional well-being, relationships, and overall functioning.
This approach emphasizes emotional support, problem-solving, psychoeducation, and helping you feel more grounded and equipped to navigate difficult situations.
What Sessions May Include
Supportive therapy sessions may include:
emotional support and processing
psychoeducation
coping strategies
problem-solving
CBT-informed tools
nervous system awareness
communication and boundary-setting skills
guidance through stressful or overwhelming situations
This approach is collaborative and tailored to what you actually need in the moment.
Some sessions may feel reflective. Others may be more practical and solution-focused.
Our Approach
At Good Talk, we take a slower, more thoughtful approach to care.
We believe support should feel human — not rushed, scripted, or transactional.
Our approach is person-centered, therapy-informed, and grounded in real conversation. We focus on helping you better understand yourself while building realistic tools that support your everyday life.
You do not need to have everything figured out before showing up
Who This May Be Helpful For
Supportive therapy may be a good fit if:
you feel overwhelmed and mentally exhausted
you’re struggling with stress, anxiety, or burnout
you feel stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break
you’re navigating a major life change or transition
you want support that feels practical, collaborative, and grounded
you’re looking for a therapy-informed approach without intensive long-term psychotherapy
Important to Know
Our nurse practitioners are trained in therapeutic approaches and supportive interventions, but they are not licensed therapists or psychologists.
Supportive therapy at Good Talk is designed to provide person-centered emotional support, psychoeducation, practical tools, and collaborative guidance within the scope of psychiatric nursing care.
If you would benefit from more specialized or intensive psychotherapy — such as trauma-focused therapy, ERP for OCD, DBT, couples therapy, or higher levels of behavioral health support — we may recommend working with a licensed therapist or specialty program in addition to your care with us.
Next Step
If you’re ready, the next step is simply seeing if this feels like the right fit for you.
