Pricing, Billing, & Insurance Questions

  • We are currently out of network and do not bill insurance directly. However, we have partnered with Thrizer to make using your benefits simple.

Depending on your plan, you may only pay your estimated portion upfront, which can be similar to an in-network copay. Some plans may require you to meet a deductible before benefits apply.

  • What is Thrizer?

Thrizer is a service that helps simplify out-of-network billing. Instead of paying the full session fee upfront and waiting for reimbursement, Thrizer allows you to pay only your estimated portion while they handle the rest directly with your insurance.

    ---

    How does Thrizer Pay work?

With Thrizer Pay, you’ll pay your estimated responsibility (similar to a copay) at the time of your session. Thrizer then submits the claim and manages reimbursement with your insurance on your behalf.

    ---

Do I need out-of-network benefits to use Thrizer?

Yes, Thrizer works best if your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits. You can use the widget here to quickly check your eligibility and estimated costs.

    ---

What if I don’t want to use Thrizer?

No problem. You can choose to pay the full session fee and we’ll provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

    ---

    Does Thrizer guarantee reimbursement?

Reimbursement depends on your individual insurance plan. While Thrizer helps manage the process, coverage and payment are ultimately determined by your insurance provider.

  • These rates reflect our full cash pay rates. If using Thrizer pay, depending on your policy, you may only be required to pay your out of network co-pay, if your deductible has been met.

    • Anxiety, worry, and panic attacks

    • Depressed mood or loss of interest

    • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

    Under the symptoms:

    • Burnout, stress, and work/school overwhelm

    • Life transitions—college, career shifts, relationships

    • Sleep issues, racing thoughts, and restlessness

    • Low self-esteem, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome

    • Feeling stuck, emotionally flat, or unmotivated

    • That “I’m fine, but not really” feeling that’s hard to name

If something feels heavy, confusing, or persistent— you don’t need to have the perfect words. If it matters to you, it matters here.

(Only supportive therapy is offered with medication management for OCD and trauma, depending on your needs, we may recommend a referral to a licensed therapist).

  • To ensure safe, appropriate, and effective care, Good Talk does not treat conditions that require a higher level of support or specialized services beyond the scope of this practice.

This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Crisis level or emergency psychiatric needs (e.g., active self-harm, suicidal thoughts with plan or intent, recent discharge from inpatient or intensive care in the last 6 months)

    • Medical, developmental, or neurological conditions requiring specialized psychiatric care (e.g., complex cardiac conditions, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury (TBI), Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease)

    • Severe or complex psychiatric conditions requiring higher levels of support (e.g., psychosis or schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, active eating disorders, or active substance use disorders)

    • Populations outside the scope of this practice (e.g., individuals under 18 or over 64, or those seeking perinatal psychiatric care)

    • Legal or mandated services (e.g. court-ordered evaluations, forensic services, or disability evaluations)

This isn’t about judgement— and it’s definitely not about anyone being “too much.”

It’s about safety, scope, and being transparent about what this practice is built to support.

We want every person to get care that truly meets their needs even if that means referring out.

If we’re not the right fit, we’ll do our best to help you find someone who is.

  • Yes — we offer targeted supportive therapy as a stand-alone service on a limited basis.

These sessions are focused, goal-oriented, and tailored to your current needs. They are a good fit for individuals looking for support, coping strategies, and help working through specific concerns.

Ongoing therapy is based on clinical appropriateness, patient engagement, and progress toward treatment goals. If longer-term or more specialized therapy is needed, we may recommend referral to an outside provider.

Many patients also choose to combine therapy with medication management when appropriate, but therapy-only services are available.

  • A comprehensive clinical evaluation is required to diagnose ADHD, regardless of any prior diagnosis. Our approach is thoughtful, structured, and based on both clinical assessment and, when appropriate, objective data.

    Our ADHD Assessment Process

    1. Initial Evaluation (90 minutes)

We begin with a detailed intake to understand your symptoms, history, and current concerns. This includes reviewing attention, focus, mood, sleep, and overall functioning across different settings.

    2. QB Check (if clinically indicated)

QB Check is a 15–20-minute computerized assessment that provides objective data on attention, impulsivity, and activity level.

    • This test may be recommended to support diagnostic clarity

    • Cost: $185 (not eligible for superbills)

    3. Follow-Up Visit

We review your evaluation and any assessment results together and develop a personalized treatment plan.

    Additional Evaluation (if needed)

If QB Check is not feasible (due to language, access, or other factors), results are inconclusive, or further assessment is needed, we may recommend and offer a referral for formal neuropsychological testing.

This type of evaluation provides a more in-depth understanding of attention, cognition, and related conditions.

    Medication Approach

At this time, this practice does not prescribe controlled medications, including stimulant medications.

If stimulant treatment is clinically appropriate, we can coordinate care with your primary care provider or a local specialist for that portion of treatment.

We continue to provide support for:

    • mood and anxiety

    • sleep

    • executive functioning

    • overall mental health

  • It is a computer-based task that objectively measures attention, impulsivity, & physical activity. Your results are compared to age-matched individuals with & without ADHD, giving us real data to support diagnosis, treatment planning, or to rule ADHD out.

This test isn’t a diagnostic tool by itself and is used to support the provider’s assessment.

  • No. While we can provide supportive therapy to individuals with trauma, we do not offer therapy modalities such as EMDR, Exposure therapy, or other trauma focused therapies and recommend that you have a dedicated therapist in addition to one of our med providers.

  • No. While we can provide supportive therapy to individuals with OCD, we do not offer therapy modalities such as exposure therapy and recommend that you have a dedicated therapist in addition to one of our med providers.

  • It is a full deep dive into your history, current challenges, and what you’re hoping to get out of care. It’s also a chance to make sure we’re the right fit for each other.

In the event your provider determines that your care may fall outside our scope of practice, no additional services or medications will be provided. We will, however, offer resources or referrals when appropriate.
